Ali Baggott (she/her) is currently the Manager, Digital Media Strategy at the University of Victoria (UVic) in British Columbia, Canada. Ali has been working in communications since 2011 at UVic and has become the institution’s resident expert in all things social. Ali currently oversees the strategy and governance for all of UVic’s central channels and facilitates the community of practice for every extension account (faculties, departments, programs, etc.) on campus. Having worked through the evolution and onboarding of social media in a business and institution setting, Ali has learned to pivot, grow and help evolve existing communications practices at UVic to now include a social-first approach. User-generated and organic content are her specialty.

He serves as a marketing mentor for the Gener8r Cybersecurity Incubator, the Break-Fast and Launch Culinary Accelerator, and the University of Texas at San Antonio Institute for Economic Development. He has been a featured speaker across the nation, including Adweek’s Social Media Week North America, Social Media Week Los Angeles, and Internet Summit Raleigh. He currently serves on the boards of the International Festivals and Events Association Foundation and the Texas Festivals and Events Association.
