Meet: The Economist

“By looking at the themes that are being discussed externally, and in relation to the Economist and our family of brands, we can start to have better planning and make more informed decisions. [Meaning] we have the opportunity to not only be reactive to what’s happening externally but also driving those conversations wherever we can.”

Meet: Graviz

After successfully launching a renowned advertising agency, Graviz expanded its capabilities and now also includes the startup company Graviz Labs within its portfolio.

Graviz Labs is a technology company that develops artificial intelligence based products. Their aim is to revolutionise the research and insight industry by utilising breakthroughs in AI to make advanced analytics, insights and data accessible to everyone. One of the ways in which Graviz Labs is doing this is through their Graviz Telescope tool. The tool uses advanced algorithms to analyse perceptions of their brand by leveraging historical and real-time data provided by Meltwater, made possible through our open API solution. The data plugged into Graviz Telescope through Meltwater’s API is used to quickly provide knowledge and information to their customers. Let’s explore in more detail!

Why Graviz uses Meltwater’s API

Graviz CEO, Rodrigo Graviz, was previously a customer of Meltwater and has a full understanding of our product’s scope and the fact that we track the largest news source base in the industry. When Graviz Labs realised they needed external data for the Graviz Telescope, Meltwater’s Enterprise API solution was an easy choice.

In order to gain a complete 360 view of their audience, Graviz Labs also blends other data sources into its Graviz Telescope tool, such as panel data and search engine data. However, they perceive Meltwater’s data to be critical in this process due to our range of sources and how we structure disparate external media data, making it simple to analyse insights within the Graviz Telescope tool.

In a digital world where reputation can be made or slayed in one tweet, keeping your finger on the pulse of the media in real time is paramount. The fact that Meltwater’s open API provides the tool with real-time data is also a key advantage favoured by Graviz, as insights are visible in the Telescope almost immediately.

What is the Meltwater API?

At Meltwater we believe that data shouldn’t exist in a vacuum but noticed this was the case for a number of large enterprises. To solve this challenge, we developed an open API that enables our customers to integrate data from their own applications or third-party business systems with online news articles and social conversations. This helps uncover insights that benefit all sides of your company. What’s more, data can be gathered and accessed by all departments in one centralised location, helping to break down siloed working. This also means you don’t have to log in to several different platforms and create lots of manual excel files to analyse disparate data.

Meltwater’s open API makes it possible to build custom dashboards and reports in BI tools such as Tableau and Microsoft PowerBI. By doing so companies can analyse and connect the dots between different data flows and create a unified reporting flow through this single source of truth.

We understand that sometimes off-the-shelf products just won’t cut it, so we work with our Enterprise clients to create custom solutions that fulfil their individual needs. Whether you want to see raw volume or specifics, the choice is yours. You have ultimate control over how, where, and when you receive media analytics through our API solution. Just loop us in and get access to the largest source base of online news and social media content in the industry, associated metadata and historical archives.
