#1 You have more that 500,000 followers on Instagram and 40,000 on Snapchat. How have you succeeded in building this strong following across the UAE & GCC?
I would say that the key is honesty, relevancy, and differentiation. Find your niche and run with it.
#2 What inspires you creatively?
Every day life, things that I find funny or weird.
#3 What’s your favorite city and food and why?
Dubai because it is home. In terms of food, I love pretty much everything so can’t choose a favorite.
#4 What’s the best professional advice you have been given?
Find what you love doing and figure out how to monetize it.
#5 What is the coolest social media/marketing campaign you have worked on as an influencer and why?
I really liked the Coke Iftar in the dark because it had a huge reach with a very strong message that really hit home across the globe.
#6 What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Spend time in the desert or on the ocean.
#7 How would you characterize online consumers in the UAE / GCC? What are they looking for in terms of content, what triggers them to follow/engage?
Consumers in the UAE and the wider GCC are content hungry and are always looking for things that are new. At the same time they want to relate, so are happy when content speaks to them.
#8 What’s your favorite movie and actor/actress and why?
Favorite movie: Crazy in Alabama. Favorite actor: no idea!
#9 What is your top tip for brands when working with teaming up with influencers in the GCC and the wider MENA?
Dont look for one off wins, look to build a relationship and mutual benefit. Be honest and don’t try to short who you work with. It will always come back to bite you!
#10 What are your favorite publications or blogs to read?
I am a voracious reader of the news, but National Geographic is probably my favorite publication.
