National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) uses Meltwater News

Meltwater News is an invaluable resource for the Chicago-based National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) and has demonstrated tremendous return on investment to its nearly 1,100 member companies who write about 80 percent of the nation's property casualty insurance.
The NICB regularly works with insurers and law enforcement partners like the FBI to investigate fraud and the results of those efforts typically get a large amount of media attention. Without Meltwater News, the NICB was not only spending many hours searching for online news coverage, but also spending valuable time analyzing the articles in preparation for reports to help validate its work on behalf of its members.
Before Meltwater, Chief Communications Officer Roger Morris found it nearly impossible to measure return on investment and to evaluate the value that online news coverage was bringing NICB members. Morris selected Meltwater News in early 2009, after his Meltwater representative retroactively tracked the online media value for 2008 and showed results that were hard to believe. But those results were validated when Morris saw an additional $14.5 million in online value for all of 2009—value that was not being captured before.
Morris recognizes that online media is becoming more and more relevant and he sees more value in online stories than anything else. He finds with Meltwater News, it’s extremely easy to track mentions of NICB, as well as insurance and fraud-related issues and he hasn’t seen another service that’s nearly as comprehensive.
